The 2023 Award of Influential Women in Energy Ethiopia was an unforgettable gathering! Held at Skylight Hotel on November 23, 2023, it brought together distinguished figures from the Ministry of Women and Children, Ministry of Water and Energy, GIZ, stakeholders, and esteemed guests.

The event reached its peak — where three influential women were honored. However, before this awaited announcement, Yemisrach Mekonnen, the Secretary of EWiEn,  the representative from the internal jury, provided a comprehensive overview of the meticulous selection process for these influential women. This insightful briefing was followed by an additional perspective shared by the external jury outlining the assessment criteria the final three awardees were selected from, which was represented by Mikael Togeby a Delegate  from Embassy of Denmark in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Highlighting the essence of the morning, the spotlight shone on three incredible women—Bezawit Getahun, Blen Genene Teshome , and Mizan Welderufael Massa — who rightfully claimed their titles as Influential Women in Energy Ethiopia. The session was graced by the remarkable Bertha Dlamini, EMBA ,from African Women in Energy and Power (AWEaP), leaving an unforgettable impact with her compelling words.

We at APCON felt an exuberant joy when Ethiopian Women In Energy( EWiEN) announced the nominees for Annual Influential Women in Energy Award 2023. Our COO Blen Genene Teshome was one of the three nominees for this prestigious award. We would like to congratulate Blen Genene Teshome, APCON Enterprises Limited team and Benedeto Construction team for their unreserved effort to bring about the change in the Ethiopia energy arena.

Annual Influential Women In Energy Award was created in 2021 by Ethiopian Women In Energy(EWiEn) Association to honor and recognize Women for outstanding achievements in the energy sector in Ethiopia.
